Best Breakup Emails?

What are you best breakup emails/lines that you use when a prospect goes cold?

I feel like the corny ones often work, but I hate coming off sleazier than@GeneralCorp at SAP's SKO.

I've come across this one on LinkedIn a couple of years ago and I've been using it and getting a 80% response rate.

"Hello John,
I have tried to contact you a number of times this past week and I imagine this must be a very busy time for you. For the sake of respecting your time, just give me a 1,2, or 3.
1. I'm interested — let’s set up a time to chat next week! 2. I’m interested but it’s not a good time. Reach out again in a month. 3. I’m no longer looking for X

I’m not huge into breakup emails in general but that’s just personal preference.

I don’t feel they are the best approach to reignite dormant leads.

So what do you do?

Well, breakup emails imply an ultimatum and its done in a number of ways:

- This will be my last email
- Should i stay or should i go?
- Can I close your file?

I don’t make it about that. I wouldn’t type it up this way but the jist of my approach is more

”Hey, its okay if there’s other things happening making this a low priority item for you right now, I don’t want to increase your workload... I just want to know what’s up.”

It’s not about confirming a next step at that point. It’s just about getting them to at least acknowledge you... And if their level of engagement is so low that they cant even give you that... I don’t believe a breakup email is going to be the difference maker.

Not a fan of break up e-mails. I would rather let marketing do their job and nurture those folks through events or collateral. I’ll get the lead when they’re ready to talk... assuming your marketing team is strategic and well built out.
