I’d be pretty direct, confirm  they see value in whatever you’re selling then ask why they need to talk to the “marketing person” when they’re the decision maker.

I used to sell to business owners and pulled this move every time they tried to pull that card on me. Sorry bob, you’re 21yr old employee that updates Instagram doesn’t have a say in this.

LOVE it. I usually take the sarcastic approach and then pivot but of course it gets me nowhere every damn time.

What’s funny is I’m so successful because I’m so direct and upfront but this objection always hindered me.

You totally just simplified this scenario and increased my odds on closing these types of deals tremendously.

WOW. Thank you.

Yup. I get business owners saying they need to "talk to their employees to make sure they're ok with the change." This is a BUSINESS decision and your money on the line, Bob.

How do you all handle a situation where a prospect has a contract approved and is ready for signature, but one of their family members just passed away? Want to be extremely sensitive to the situation...feel there's never a "right" time to reach out and never want to be salesy...
