State your name and purpose for the call. You likely have 10 seconds before they cut you off so be concise, direct, and then shut up and let them respond. You can always suggest a time to call them back if they are in the middle of something, but make sure you get their direct dial or email address once you agree to talk later. If they have time now, don't pitch them first...always start with questions to get them talking.

The best Intro often has the best tone. I’ve heard the top cold callers say the same 3 sentences over and over getting meeting after meeting. Reps that were not as pronounced or confident with their tone would repeat, verbatim... incongruent results. Great Tone + Talk Track = success.

Think about how confidence sounds and why people always say “smile and dial” - people can hear that smile.

A person who sounds like they’re at 100% of quota likely is or is on their way.
