Best Job Search Platform?

What are your favorite job-search resources? I wouldn't say I'm "actively looking" but I don't particularly love my current role/industry and would definitely entertain some conversations. That said, all the recruiters that reach out to me are recruiting for tech-sales positions... not interested. Where is the best place to look? I've never done a traditional job search, I've always been recruited so I don't know where the hidden gems are.

If this has been discussed- please link! I couldn't find anything already posted, but I don't believe this hasn't been a topic yet...

It's hard to keep up with the product release velocity...The Gong Thong is taking the sales community by storm, and if you can't keep them flowing, then you must be going.

Were you happy with those jobs? If you have any suggestions on fun industries to explore or anything, I'm all ears. I'm not really sure what I actually want to do, but I am pretty sure it's not what I'm currently doing. (Which sucks because the $ is far better here than anything else I've ever explored or even heard of.)

Yup, I've loved them. Once was insurance, other two tech. They are mostly all tech companies, but that's all I know and love.

That's great to hear! I've been in tech for my entire career and I'm kind of over it.

I don't actually like the tech- I just happen to be good at selling it. Lol.

Thank you! I've searched for like 3 days in different ways... nothing ever popped up! However I, of course, didn't use the word "hunt" like a regular human being. /facepalm

I always approach my job hunts by the industry or sector I find interesting. I used the YC alumn landing page since I knew I wanted to stay in SaaS but looking for a good solid company

I exclusively use my network now. Low key check-in and see what’s available. If your network is too tied into people you work with now, get a few people you trust to help you out as well.

Astute observation. My network is so intertwined with my current leadership it would definitely get back to he-who-must-not-be-named. I'm not ballsy enough yet to even put feelers out.

I have a randomly scheduled "discussion" over lunch coming up- guess I'll be finding out how outwardly I can be feeling out new opportunities after that!

Check out glassdoor, it kind of stinks matching you to the correct roles but I like how much info you can get from it before even speaking either HR or the recruiter.

Indeed is good because it’s a job aggregator so it pulls jobs from all over the internet but it can be a black hole. Repvue is supposed to help with this as well so check them out.

Applying for a job online = throwing your resume in a stack for some 21 y/o recruiter fresh out of college to sift through... Not going to lead to a good job.

Better off finding ideal companies and simply reaching out (use some sales skills) and engaging them in convo and feeling out if they are hiring.

These days the best jobs don't ever get posted to LinkedIn or Indeed. And 97% of recruiters don't know anything. Hence the same generic questions from all of them.

Eh, I think that is a better fit for someone who is actively looking though. I just want to start getting exposure to what is out there that I haven't thought of yet. I'm not necessarily ready to throw the towel in, but would be for the right next career path. 'nahm sayin?

Edited to add- I'm also not throwing any resumes out, just really curious what the landscape holds rn.

I’ve gotten most opportunities from LinkedIn. I find it more intuitive and in line with I’m looking for. I also like that it sometimes refers to the recruiter or hiring manager

They all suck. Call a recruiter let em know and let them shop around for you.

This isn't what I'm looking for... I'm not even really looking yet- just surveying the landscape, trying to see what even piques my interest and what I may want to do. To totally switch industries, I can't imagine I wouldn't have to go looking- I'm hit by recruiters and business owners all the time... just always for stuff I don't want to do anymore.

Hi! Check out the Bravado jobs pilot:  https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/introducing-the-bravado-jobs-pilot

Fill out one survey, then sit back and get matched to a fast-growing tech companies where majority of reps are hitting quota. Plus, you'll get to skip the BS recruiter phone screen and go straight to the hiring manager.
