‘Best of’ Mental Health posts round up + live meditation announcement

The wisest man once said, "take care of your chickens." But just as importantly, "take care of your mentals."

That's why in honor of Mental Health Awareness month, we're gonna get hella aware of mental health in sales. Yes, it's a real thing, fam.

You sales savages and cold calling warriors know how it goes. Pounding the phones despite the endless rejections. Getting hopes up with verbal commits only to be left at the altar after telling your manager it was a done deal. On top of all of that, we can't even grab a beer or 12 with a coworker at the end of the day when we need to vent it out like a heating duct.

However, we've witnessed something truly beautiful over the past couple of months: fellow savages supporting each other, providing tips, and having honest conversations about the daily grind of sales. Here are our favorite snippets.

1. Do You Meditate?

2. How do you keep yourself motivated under pressure?

3. What kind of hobbies do you have to cope with the stress of sales?

4. Tell Me You’re In Sales Without Telling Me You’re In Sales

5. Do you work through lunch?

The first event we’re hosting is to help you kick off your morning (west coasters) or provide a midday break (east coasters), live meditation hosted by our COO, Amy Young aka Mindfulness by Amy. She seriously has super dope mind-powers. So use this link to RSVP – limited number of spots, WR homies only. We’ll drop some other events, tips, and posts throughout the month so stay tuned and like Marshawn says, take care of those mentals.

I used to think "Mental Health" was a bunch of bullshit. Then I woke up weighing 230 lbs, doing a bunch of drugs, eating like shit, sleeping 5-6 hrs/night, and feeling like crap all the time.

Had to take a hard look in the mirror about what I really wanted for myself / out of life.

This shit matters. Trust

lol gotta take yourself out of situations that lead to the same result. Or if you're fine with it, keep going. End of the day an honest mans pillow is his peace of mind

Morning rituals are everything for me. With WFH its so easy to wake up 10 mins before you need to hop on your first zoom call but the days I wake up at least an hour earlier and get my mind right are the days that make the difference. Reading, podcast, meditate, plan, coffee, whatever works. I also find that forcing myself to not look at slack or my emails until 15 mins before my day starts helps my mind a ton.

Thanks Corp and Sahil, sometimes I feel that sales needs it's own space for venting and recovering as we're definitely subject to struggles in which other departments don't face :O

Similar experience here. Went to "access the event" and it brought me to a page with just the event info.

I agree you have to have some alone time for yourself whether you have time to read, do yoga, go to the gym, for a walk, or all that. It's a must. Gaming and escapism is not healthy. Not saying you do that but like one needs to put a framework for their life.

We have all been navigating through a pandemic and if that doesn’t say enough.. we have been through the very adverse situations day in and out. Some are caring for sick family members, got covid, have children at home, etc. mental health is no joke.
