Best Paying Sales position / Industry / product

Hey All,

Since I am looking to make a move I was wondering what is the best sales position to have in which industry and to sell what ? By best I mean all conditions (OTE, time management, work life balance, company size, stress level, etc...)

Of course you can thrive in any industry but I wanted to get a bit of feedback from you.

Lmao definitely the ability for good pay but the stress is real. Defence goes in cycles and deals can take years to close. If you don't play it smart and plan out projects it'll be feast and famine.

I'm considering getting into cyber for defence firms, lots of money out there in the next decade and the best part is a lot of it will be govt funded or subsidized so less objections.

LOTTTSSSS of variables here. Some companies you can make boat loads of commissions, but it requires more experience and perhaps less work/life balance. It really all depends.

Coming from the FUH NANCE industry I have to say we take the fucking cake. My experience is in wealth management for ultra-high net worth. For the bulge brackets (JPM/GS/MS) it’s pretty much as follows:

95th percentile- $10mm+
80th percentile- $5mm
50th percentile- $2mm

Tippity top dog big shots maybe like $30mm or something?

I’ve never seen any tech sales org that can touch that pay by percentile.

Yeah I was looking at switching industry for this but finance seems boring as F***.... I did trade by the past in stock market and made my bucks and also now in crypto but I don't know how challenging it is... ? I like very complex products !

Boring at times like any other job but the upside is the complexity of portfolio construction keeps things interesting and intellectually stimulating. One downside most tech sales folks may miss is the regulatory BS you have to deal with on a daily basis

I've been in the electronic security industry the last 9 years. SaaS & Emerging Technologies are a lot of fun to be around and sell. Pays well too :)
