From one of my first sales managers and maybe the best leader I've ever worked under; He encouraged everyone on his team to interview at least 4 times per year. Would even occasionally spend time during 1:1s asking if we've interviewed and would offer to help us prep. His logic was he wanted a team full of employees who 'wanted to be here'. If we interviewed and realized we were better off in the current role/company then it would encourage us to work harder to make that team/company successful. If we interviewed and realized there was something better out there for us he would always encourage us to explore it further and take it if it made sense.

Still the best servant-leader I've ever worked under and it's a practice I've taken with me throughout my career. "Know your worth"

Shut. Up. My old manager literally made me mute myself during calls at points. Numbers went up, go figure.ย
