Best sales methodology in 2022?

the last time I had a legit sales training it was Sandler in like 2018 or something.

not even sure Sandler was the best back then but it was somewhat respectable.

WHAT ARE THE KIDS TALKING ABOUT THESE DAYS?

I haven't heard of anything new. The best methodology is the one you create for yourself.

Sandler sucks.

But the latest methodologies are basically the same with minor differences.

Maybe Miller Heiman is old school but I love how it helps you break down an account.

Why do you say that Sandler sucks? I’m curious.

My experience with Sandler is that it’s very high pressure and manipulative. That is MY experience and may not be that of others.

I don’t think it’s any more manipulative than any other sales methodology. Sandler at its core is about sales stages which is standard

If your training in Sandler was "manipulative" then somewhere I think you missed the point. My experience was that Sandler training (from a pro) was all designed around asking good questions, getting the buyer to fess up to pain, have a budget and a decision making process, and then holding them accountable to fix it.

I'd say Gap and Challenger, Sandler seems really outdated but they push their shit pretty hard.

Force Management's Command of the Message/Sale... Hands down. That shit changed my sales game entirely and added method to the madness. That, and BowTiedSalesGuy.

I'd just skim through each and adopt the things that match your sales cycle / ICP.

Sales methodologies seem built for different sales cycles and target markets. Also... all sales methods seem to be a combo of checklists, tactics and behaviors.

Meddic - checklist, more items than you may need
Medpicc- checklist, more items than you may need
Challenger - approach/behavior, can be a little aspirational
BANT -checklist, lacks detail
GAP- checklist + tactics
Command of the message
SPIN
Sandler
NEAT
Solution selling
Triangle - checklist + tactics

A combination of MEDDPICC, Value Selling and Challenger sales has proven the best for me.

I've had formal training in Miller Heiman and Gap. Recently our new CRO is pushing MEDDIC and wanting us to start using this in our sales cycles. However, I like what many of the others here are saying.....the best is probably going to be some combination of a few "you" find interesting and success.

Good selling out here!

I’ve had Challenger training but work in New England. If you start calling out an old yankee about how they do business they toss you out on your arse! That being said Challeneger only works in high dollar systems type sales. Every sales job I’ve had Challenger would never work. My current company has us doing a 2 hour sales training every Friday morning for the next several weeks. I have no ideas what the agenda/plan is for this training and all we’ve done so far is an elevator pitch. Not sure it’s worth anything.

I liked Miller Heiman, especially for strategic deals that are single threaded, but it gets tricky to navigate with multithreaded, multiproduct deals within a single org.

Still some great principles and ensures you’re expanding your reach, understanding your weaknesses, and leveraging your strengths against them

Industry specific also I would have thought. We are an Information Brokerage - Challenger 100% doesnt do it.
