Thank them for using your product, but politely tell them it's not a fit anymore and you would like to cancel the partnership

Try to get the executive team involved from both sides to talk through overall partnership and decide if it's worth continuing or not.ย

Don't be afraid to fire clients. Nothing is more empowering than telling someone that they are no longer a fit for your product or service. It has to be done with candor, but it also requires a lot of internal alignment--especially from those that handle review sites so they can combat negative garbage that follows the event.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
It depends. Are you responsible for them post close? Do you work for a company where clawbacks are an issue or do they pay up-front no matter what? Basically if you can close the deal quickly and move them off of your plate, try to do that.

If you're in a longer sales cycle, being blunt about expectations is huge. I've had dick clients and told them straight up what I would and would not do and if we were willing to walk or not.
