Best way to structure partnership deals?

Has anyone had experience (and success lol) at structuring partnerships?


I'm not talking affiliate links where they purchase on my website or theirs and use a code to do so.


Some insight, we're building a marketplace specific to our industry/niche and a lot of the services/products are not just a one time purchase online kinda deal. Ideally everyone would have their CRM setup with a lead source and we would be input there, but this is the real world now.


Any insight on ways to prevent companies shafting us because there has been no real way to track people coming from us going to them?

Building a two sided marketplace without leakage is tough. There has to be enough value in the platform to make it sticky. Typically things like payment, time tracking, etc. Either that or you have to make it difficult to contact each other outside your platform by masking contact info untill they have accounts and you can track engagement.

If youโ€™ve seen Appsumo, trying to do something similar. Difference is on Appsumo all the purchases are made on their platform. The thought with โ€˜coupon codesโ€™ is generating one at the time of lead capture so that lead source is allocated back to us when the consumer goes to the partner company to redeem the coupon (doing small 5% discounts or something to drive traffic to our site vs others)

So i find your marketplace, find a product, generate a coupon code for nominal savings, take the coupon code to the manufacturers website to use, then the manufacturer gives you a referral fee?

Do you also have any forms that need to be filled where source can be tracked and saved. It's tough at what you are looking at.

Yeah Iโ€™m thinking individualized coupons with expiration dates for tracking purposes so that when they go to said company they can redeem the coupon and verify itโ€™s from us.
