Spread your jams, butters, mayos, with a fork.ย  When people ask, tell them you grew up in one of those closed off cult communities and this was how you were "trained".

Iโ€™ve generally found just going about your business is good. Iโ€™ve always found people who play devils advocate make bad impressions.

This is a good policy. Get the lay of the land and then start to assert yourself as needed and be helpful from the jump.

Good advice, Iโ€™m one of the oldest Employees now at my company and always find new people come off too hard with how things used to be for them. You need to wait 3-4 months before giving real opinions on how to change stuff and even maybe never

Iโ€™ve always thought if I wasnโ€™t a manager or in leadership, I didnโ€™t need to give any opinions lol. Iโ€™m a unit of labor, my job is to produce. Just gotta sell and everything will be okay.

Great point! Luckily this seems to be a step up in culture, so I've been enjoying it more than feeling the need to comment.

Sometimes it's tough making sure you don't come across as being friendly simply to get deals approved, but it's still vital to make these connections. Great point!

Ask them to do you an easy favor.ย

My go to is getting a pin, t-shirt, golf balls etc. Like oh hey, I love your logo/brand etc. Then ask, for our next meeting can we trade pins/swag etc.ย

It's a great anchor. "I did them a favor, I must like them"

Compliment. Compliment. Compliment. No one hates them. Be it your seniors, bosses or customers :) Fill yourself with positive attitude and energy. Compliment and love life. Every encounter you have is gonna leave them mesmerized :) All the best.

Sometimes itโ€™s little things. Depending on the size of your company or sales org, something as small as reaching out to the VP or CRO can have a lasting impression. Also, donโ€™t be afraid to ask questions and ask for help! Itโ€™s easy to โ€œsuffer in silenceโ€ but the reality is itโ€™s not helping you crush your number. Managing UP is just as important as hitting your target. Have a clear understanding on what makes your boss/bosses boss tick, it will pay dividends long term

AEโ€™s - hereโ€™s a very client-centred way to gather information about โ€˜WHENโ€™ a decision needs to be made. Doing it this way will help you shorten sales cycles and build trust. Keep in mind - not every question I ask in this example is a perfect fit for every buyer, but should give you a good place
