Blind Calendar Invites

What's up everyone!

So, recently I made a switch in companies and am learning the ropes from their prospecting/outreach strategies. One of the things that I used previously was Blind Calendar Invites, but haven't seen them suggested here.

Curious to know a few things from you guys:

  • Would you suggest using Blind Calendar Invites as a way to get in front of people?
  • If so, what do you normally put in the meeting description to make sure they show?
  • If we flip the script, would this piss you off or make you more likely to interact with someone?

I decline them and mark the sender as spam. I don't like that shit, and if my teams ever used them I would have gone wild.

I had an SDR who tried this a few times, and only received declines/no shows/“why are you sending me a random invite” responses Your results may vary..

This is a no go for me.

It shows no respect to the clients time, and if you're working VP/C-suite they'll never join.

If someone did that to me, I'd be pissed. No agenda, no goal, just a placeholder to get my attention without my acknowledgement? Na, thats why you call first or add some kind of value or relevance. The times I've been ghosted were when I didn't establish the agenda beforehand and bring the up the solutions to pain points.

Does that work?  TBH I get prospected all the time and it would be a hard no.  I guess to an extent it's a numbers game.

I tried blind calendar invites in a past role and had a 0% success rate. It could have been a me problem, but I just couldn't get them to work. What I did have success with was calendar darts! I would send 3-4 times that I was available in a short email and it would allow them to answer with a quick response

Nope. would be pissed if that's how bdrs I align with operated. If a rep's pulling that I'd wonder why they were hired.

I'm not letting a service tech in my house just because they presumptively send me a letter warning me that they're coming by.

A couple of my colleagues do a cold, personalize email then send an invite. They see success in it but its not my style personally.

Absolutely not, this just seems like pissing any chance of a relationship with a prospect down the drain

I think this is a lot more effective for follow up/mid POC calls where they WERE engaged and then started ghosting.

If they call me out and say that it's rude, I'll shoot back that ignoring my emails after investing hours of my and engineering time is quite rude as well, so we're even.

I blind calendar invite Inbound India "hot leads" e.g they have expressed interest in reaching out.

I find India clients are hesitant to pick up a phone call on the fly, but very receptive via email, so just give them a day or two's notice and send them a calendar invite + an auto follow up sequence via email for them to confirm and you're good to go :)
