Blocking time on your calendar

this to me is the best thing a true sales person should do, especially with this wfh. block off time on your calendar on a daily basis lads and stick to it as much as possible. make it a routine/habit and use those times to be stay focused ๐Ÿ’ฐ (prospecting, research, AB testing emails etc) - keep improving your knowledge.ย

My experience of working in sales, i know I can't be busy 8-9 hours a day, everyday unless otherwise lol. hence I block off times and make sure I stay productive during this time.ย

I'd love to hear your tactics guys ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

I think it's even more important when you're remote as people can't see that you're focused, you can't close the door to your office etc.

Make sure you schedule breaks throughout the day too.

Super important! Even just standing up and moving around once an hour.

Then a real break for lunch.

And a break to take a walk.

I'm much more productive when I don't just try to work through the day.

Yes, there are exceptions. Some days are just back to back to back. But that cannot be all day every day.

Exactly this. Some days can get really busy but as you mentioned it can not be all day everyday. So itโ€™s important we get those breaks especially with the constant rejection lol. Air is needed

Breaks is definitely a must. I am a heavy coffee drinker so automatically I get those breaks ๐Ÿ˜…

I block time often as "busy" so I can get work done and appear to be occupied on Teams, etc.

Rituels are everything. If you let clients dictate your week, you get nothing done.

We have a strict no sales calls in the morning for that reasons. To have a dedicated time to work on pipeline, follow-ups, intervals projects and

Starts with understanding your life vision, goals, and priorities. With that clarity - "What is the best use of my time right now?" is an easy question to answer. For me - Time Blocking is a must. And I supplement that with Bullet Journaling. The two combined were game changers for me.

I do it because i NEED focused time for account plans, LinkedIn work, call prep, daycare pick up/ drop off etc.

Cant fill out the entire calendar obviously and i mark it โ€œfreeโ€ so my sdr can book over it if thereโ€™s an IM.

That is the best thing a professional can do. Block of time for reviewing and planning also. I give 30 minutes at the start and end of each day.

Damn. Thatโ€™s some level of discipline. I canโ€™t give myself that 30min at start and EOD on a daily unless itโ€™s life threatening ๐Ÿคฃ but kudos to you ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

I use Kosmotime. Itโ€™s awesome. You add stuff to your to do list and it syncs with Google calendar. You can then drag your tasks into open spaces on your calendar. Once itโ€™s complete, you check it off and it appears in your calendar and a checked task too. No one can question my productivity if they creep on my calendar. Itโ€™s instant gratification when you get something done too.

See actually I disagree with this, my team only shows time blocks not what they are doing.

Especially when I am trying to schedule a client meeting, but not sure if this person is available to join because they have something on the calendar when they actually are just updating the crm.

Tell them to make it tentative if it is something that can be flexible for the right reason. But be sure not to abuse it by booking a bunch internal meetings in their tentative blocks, and if you do donโ€™t be surprised if their pipeline isnโ€™t growing.

Iโ€™m not a manager, my team meant other reps that supports the account and also sales engineers.

It would be hard to have them all be tentative

Ok, sorry your post read like you were. I didnโ€™t mean they should be tentative for your customer meeting. I meant establish an internal rule that if you block time for your self, make it tentative, so the team knows it can be moved if necessary. Just am idea.

Well with the help of Teams you can always message them to find out if they can take on a meeting in those times? I block slots for different stuff but if I were to be approached by my manager or SDR to take on a meeting, I donโ€™t see why not
