Boss not keeping word… $$$

Boss gives me a small raise in April & after realizing I was disappointed, challenges me to hit a goal to receive more. Hit the goal last month, bring it to her attention & she asks for a few days to verify. A few days later, I send her reporting that confirms. A few more days, check in again & she says I'm being too aggressive. More than a week later & still nothing. Advice?

Can I ask what the goal was she needs to verify? Unless it was to finish top rep in a quarter when you needed to wait to see the results, I can think of anything where she wouldn’t have access already.

Kinda seems like she is avoiding to give the additional raise like the plague. The really weird thing is seems like she brought up setting a goal for this raise

Did she give you a timeline when she would tell you about the raise

I really dont understand why the boss things you are being too aggressive? what does she think will happen when they make a promise to give you a raise??

Did she just not think you were going to hit it and now that you have she has to scramble? I would try to set a meeting with her and talk about it.

Sounds like an empty promise... You have it in writing?

I’m literally going through something similar. And unfortunately, no matter how good you are or how much you love the job, a cheap boss will always be a cheap boss(even to others) - unless they can’t replace you. That’s what I’m about to find out 😂
