Bowtied Cocoon? Legit, or a scam?

I've had this recruiter blowing up my work email for the past week. Seems like it's a "you pay" situation, rather than traditional recruiting where a firm pays them to look for candidates.

Not super into their methods, and not on the market for a new job. I'm already in the pay bracket they're advertising and very happy with my employer. Was just curious to get the War Room's thoughts on this individual/group.

Would you pay someone to help you land "six figures in year one"? Anyone familiar with Bowtied Cocoon?

Hey yall. I saw this post and wanted to share that I have actually worked with him to land a role at my target firm. So I will just clarify some things for the sake of it:
First of all, I didn't land my role by sitting back and letting BowtiedCocoon do everything. He did help but I also paid my dues to land where I am at now. He helped restructure my resume so it converts more to the sales roles I was aiming for (i.e. I started my career in management consulting) to get the 1st round of interviews in this transition. I found that the course is particularly helpful on that aspect but also on preparing for the next rounds of interviews, as I am by default better at case interviews for consulting and not the sales ones.
Certainly there is material available online to be start with but I got an edge over others during the next round of interviews that I wouldn't have had if I didn't invest in this process with him. Why? Because the course goes to great length to clarify the types of questions I will receive and at which stage and even frameworks to use to be able to answer them based on my own experience. We even did mock interviews, which was initially stated in the course but I was anxious for my first 3rd round and he pretended to be the HM while I was answering his questions, we recorded it too so I could also go after by myself and improve my answers based on his feedback and my own input too.
Tbh, it's certainly not a course for everyone but it can really help a lot of people at least it was for me as an outsider. It also goes beyond really once you realize that you can still use the same material later for the next time you're actively looking for jobs. Lots of insights about how to assess which companies you deem fit for whatever sales career path you want, but also about sales recruitment cycles and when companies open roles etc. Have a look at his posts on X and you might have a better idea about the course.
Anyways, I hope this sheds some light on him.

Seeing the other two long winded comments come through from accounts with no posting activity solidifies my theory that BC is either making fake accounts, or incentivizing clients/buddies to come and write these out.

Just wanted to shine a light on this situation. Came across this thread but felt like it is not 100% fair. I've not been working with him directly nor have I been part of his course.
I had some DMs back and forth while I needed some advice on my tech sales job search, and used quite some of his free content for it as well.
Let me be straightforward, he is legit. His knowledge and experience has definitely helped me throughout this process.
It helped me land a great job, at a great company, with a great salary.
Looking at his free content and his willingness to help without even being part of his course, I can only think how valuable his paid content and advice is.
Again, everything shared felt a bit unfair because of the experience I had talking with him.
Hope this helps.

Having first hand experience with him I can definitely say it is not a scam. Helped me land a role at one of the fastest growing companies in the space. Even went above and beyond what I paid for and helped pull from his network to get me information that helped me succeed. Skepticism is always healthy, but sometimes a good offer is just that. No degree and minimal experience and landed a great gig with his work. I say give it a shot

No offense, but Iโ€™ve had two new comments on this post in the past 24 hours giving great reviews and itโ€™s making me suspicious that he found this post and is either making sock puppet accounts or has been sending his buddies/clients to make come chime in.

Your account was made three hours ago, and you immediately came to a 4 month old post. You searched this out.

It's been a while since I've been in that space, but I believe it's illegal for recruiting firms to force candidate to pay them for a job placement. They can only charge the company seeking candidates, otherwise, it creates a pay-to-win situation in the hiring market.

Never heard of this org, so with the 0 research I did, I'm going to say this sounds like a scam.
Also, even if they found you a job, they're not going to place you until day 61 so they get paid. There's no incentive for them to get you a job faster???

It kinda reminds me of that company PreHired that was scamming people by saying they'd train you in sales and place you in a 100k job in 3 months or you paid nothing. Except they placed 0 people in 100k jobs but still billed them for $30,000.

I didn't know that! However, I think the incentive works the opposite way. They're incentivized to get you into a role *before* day 60, otherwise they don't get paid.

Have never heard of PreHired, but that sounds insanely sketchy as well.
