Bravado is spamming LinkedIn Job Postings -- Annoying as hell!

Every morning I get an email from LinkedIn with "30+ AE Roles you may be interested in...."

In the last few weeks this has gone from 1-2/week of Bravado roles to now almost 50% Bravado roles. If I search for Remote AE positions posted in the last 24 hours through the LinkedIn Jobs section, it's now consistently 50%+ Bravado listings.

Great for Bravado to be gaining this kind of market share from hirers, right? No.

I don't believe these are real roles -- I believe Bravado is posting scraped positions from other sources (or even from LinkedIn itself) in order to try and drive Bravado sign-ups. I also think they are reposting these positions with increasing frequency to try and game the system. Many of these positions are weeks old but Bravado is reposting them over and over again.

Will this post get deleted? Probably. But here's also a chance for Bravados to either clarify what they are doing vs. what they aren't. Or b) cut it out!

They're all magnets, baby!

Get you to sign up for Bravado Jobs, join the community, and POOF, you're addicted to the forum and the commish.

But hey, you better be a builder, because if you're just a big logo chaser @sahilwon't take you onto his ship.

There's another bigol' can right there. Much to be said about unknown colleges and startup wrecks one has lead to an exit.

Not that it's a banner career achievement. Shit, maybe it is. We'll see. But I beat a Harvard MBA for my current stop. I gots no Harvard. I gots no MBA. But I did show the founder a path to faster revenue they hadn't considered. Currently amidst an actual delivery.

Hiring squad was 2 Columbia PhDs. Other dude rested on laurels and waited to let his degree get him in. Sorry Chad, you lose. :)

The irony is that most of the Bravado team is built up of name-brand college, MBA-holding, big-tech, and multiple exit employees.

Ummm ....

The vast majority of the Bravado team isn't even located in the United States. I would say every exec at this company would tell you that I take huge bets on "unproven" people and push them to take responsibilities far above what they've achieved in their career.

Not sure what you're talking about.

GW, Oxford, Stamford. That's just you.

Your core, US-based team, would largely fit the logo chasers pool.

Am I wrong?

Did you hit apply on LinkedIn on a couple posts by them? Seems like you got stuck on the algorithm

I have got stuck in a trap of Accounting jobs after looking at them once, ever since there I will get an email of a random role I have no interest in

you can fix this. There is a job alerts button on the Linkedin jobs page and you can delete the alerts you don't want or turn them off altogether.

I wouldn’t say it’s bravado upping the number of jobs, but more the algorithm giving you more of what you previously clicked.

It’s like when my daughter gets a hold of my iPad and starts watching Bluey cartoons. If she gets more than two or three in I am inundated in more Bluey and similar cartoons. And less of my punk and rock music.

Bravado also has a recruiting arm where they place candidates for vetted roles. I don't think it's a way to scrape and drive users to the WR.

They make no mention of industry or any specifics of the role. If they were recruiting they would be trying to recruit qualified candidates.

AND they recycle the exact same language across job postings with completely different titles.

Maybe I'm wrong? But it's fishy AF!

@BestCaseFalse, because i'm the one that changes the copy of each job description. My guidelines is vague enough that other competitors don't figure out who my client is, but specific enough that candidates can tell if they're a fit.

If you have copy suggestions, i'm down to take note.

Here is our entire US based executive team. How many googles, facebooks, harvards, stripes, etc do you see?

I don't mind fair criticism from the community. But peddling straight up lies and trying to pass them off as fact is questionable.

I don't post on LinkedIn for clout chasing. Every one of my employees sees my posts. You think they'd still work here if they thought I was full of shit?

UPenn

UC Berkeley
Credit Suisse
Alibaba

Washington University
Founder with an exit

IBM
eBay

This doesn't even count you or Ross.

I'm not here peddling lies. I'm calling you out for a post that, while you say was not posted for clout, is a little bit of a pot calling the kettle black.

UPenn...Berkely, Washington University...all top 20 schools.

A few massive tech companies and global banking superpowers.

Your team may not be a bunch of hand-out chasing people. In fact, I know they are not given my conversations with them. HOWEVER, they did fit the bill for your logo-chasing criteria.

In my opinion, many of your LinkedIn posts are designed to elicit engagement and attention, good or bad. I don't even hate the move, it gets Bravado on the radar of folks...but the facts above expose the premise of the post to be a false narrative.

Bravado has 129 jobs listed. 120 listed in the last 24 hours. 2 listed in the past week. The remaining 7 are over 1 month old.

I made this post over 24 hours ago and the numbers were about the same.

They are reposting the same jobs every day.

Hey @bestcase! I'm the PM in charge of LinkedIn job postings. Ignoring our own agreements in place with LinkedIn that require us to actively use their platform for our postings, I can confirm Bravado has received an influx of new jobs and these go up daily.

Given the quick turnarounds for these jobs, our team actively takes down and puts up job postings as they come in or get filled (we do this every day).

While I can't do anything re: spam you receive via LinkedIn, i'd suggest adjusting your LinkedIn notification settings to hide Bravado as a company.

Thanks for responding! I can't figure out a way to hide a specific company. I have a fairly broad alert set up for Account Executive which I do want to receive email notifications for -- but I don't see any options to exclude a specific company.

What has worked for me is to begin disliking posts from a specific company. I also think there's 3 dots or something that allows you to "hide posts like this" or something along the lines. It sounds like you have to re-train the LinkedIn algo to not show you Bravado postings.
