This company are a major competitor of one of my customers... Who have been acting like dicks for >1 year and then cancelled their contract this month. They are an important logo for us so it caused some panic.
Meanwhile I've run a very quick sales cycle (exec intro meeting / use case identification to closed in 9 days - usually 6-12 month sales cycle) with these guys... and am about to put all the people/resource for the former customer into their biggest rival... Who are paying us more money.
I also get an 80k commission on this vs busting my balls for no reward with the old customer.
Oh and my manager is sorting out all the legal wrangling and project KO because I went on holiday today for 10 days. Typing this from a poolside terrace with a drink in hand.
Keep at it savages. Karma will reward you richly for putting the work in and dealing with shitty prospects / customers, eventually.
