Burnt-out on business/sales books- where do you go?

I need more fiction in my life. I'm picked up some John Steinbeck again, and am feeling so refreshed. I spent way too much time with sales/business books last year. It's great to a point, but I think reading too much straight forward text/advice dulls the right brain.

What genres and authors do you read to take a break from the hustle? Anyone else feel strongly that they sell better when diving deep into non-sales books that don't have 10 takeaways/steps/keys to success etc?

I kinda love Comics. The visual style and hero's narrative are both fun and help take away from the mundane-ness of daily life.

Same for Comics and Graphic Novels! I read Watchmen during early quarantine, then Once & Future- which is about a grandma hunting the undead King Arthur XD

READ THIS ASAP:

โ€œplayer of gamesโ€ by Iain M Banks

then read the rest of his culture series.ย

โ€œmatterโ€ is my particular favorite, followed closely by โ€œsurface detailโ€ but โ€œplayer of gamesโ€ is the best book to start with (faster pace, a touch less complex so a good introduction to that โ€˜worldโ€™).

After that,ย

โ€œoryx and crakeโ€ - Margaret Atwood

โ€œChildren of Timeโ€ - Tchaikovskyย

โ€œYesterdayโ€™s Goneโ€ - Platt and Wright ย **funny, more lighthearted ***

โ€œWool omnibus โ€œ - Hugh Howeyย

โ€œFoundation โ€œ - Asimovย

โ€œEnders Gameโ€ - Orson Scott Card

yeah so I read a lot lolย

Lol, I'll set a reminder to get back to you once I finish all this a year+ from now.

I'd heard of Iain Banks, but haven't read him yet. Thanks for the referrals!

what is your goal in life right now? why were you reading (so many) business/sales books to begin with?

I was an avid reader growing up and for some time wanted to be a writer.ย
Now - as a business person whose main product is myself - I find that facebook, video games and reading fiction are activities which do not advance me to my goal, so I don't engage in them.
