Sounds like a great way to take liquid equity out of the company without cannibalizing their cap table. If I were the board Iโd shoot that down in the comp plan.
You already know what I think. Scum of the earth, right up there with slow walkers, ppl who put fish in the office microwave, and that asshole who yelled at us for tipping his recycling bin over while on our naked walk to the store last night. Cowards.ย
Iโm currently writing in my meditation journal about all the ways Iโm going to torture, maim, and murder any C Suite that collects commission. Especially ones who have worked in the presence of u, my love.ย
Iโve already located the outfit Iโm going to wear, too.ย
Douchey, I had a COO that would steal any high level prospects by offering to jump on the demo with you and when it closed take the majority of the commission and leave you a little "for setting it up". Piece of shit.
Itโs odd that is even possible - also OPโs scenario.
I give away, on a rotating basis, every single new prospective client I personally start to people in our firm who have onboarded within the last 12mo. If they eventually get closed I see it in the business cash flow (ownership stake). I need and want my people to eat (commish & trails).
From what I understand that dude caused a big part of the horrible attrition rate of all employees at that company. I hear he got fired and now he's near unemployable in his area because so many people are aware that he's a toxic person.
My current CEO is awesome, he will SDR for us on occasion and even pass deals on to us that he set up with his own friends. Dude knows how to keep sales staff happy. Just wish we didn't have to qualify for residuals every month haha
There was so much bull shit going on at that company and that dude was at the center of most of it. Closest I came to physically assaulting the guy was when he was yelling at myself and a buddy for some stupid shit. He must have noticed that we weren't the least bit intimidated so he pounded on the table, got louder, and pointed at me basically sticking his finger in my face.
I smacked his finger out of my face, stood up and told him he didn't scare me in the slightest but was in fact beginning to piss me off. He sat down and apologized for "letting his anger take control" and the conversation was over about 5 seconds later.
