Calling all Enterprise AE quota killers (at least 125% quota) -- What type of comp/equity bump did you get after a killer year?

We're all heading into comp review szn so any aggregate insights would help us all. If comfortable, list:

  • 2021 quota attainment (%)
  • Old/new OTE
  • Equity increase (if any)
  • Stage company (startup, public, etc)
  • Company Industry

Cheers to another year of earning fat stacks!

For background: Im 2 yrs in at AE role but going on 4 yrs at a Series C SaaS company. 131% to plan, 41% base raise or 25K/yr total in base. Doubled my OTE up to around the $650K mark and increase of standard commission rates with a drop to partner rates.

Was 125ish% of goal last year. OTE at the time was $240k with $100k stock granted upon starting. Got $55k or so in RSU refresher split in two parts and promotion middle of this year which came with another $135k in RSU. New OTE is $270k with $100k worth of stock vesting over the year.

SaaS, Public company, ~300% to quota, 15% increase in OTE 3 months ago and was offered continued merit for Q1 along with the rest of the company. I presume another 5-10%

300% of quota (that's impressive!) and didn't get more equity? Were there a lot of reps hitting quota this year?

We were recently acquired and there has been no equity/ matching program offered since. Clear missed opportunity as people tend to not work as hard. We did get a pretty decent buy out last year

A buy out sounds nice. Hoping we go that route one day.

Always wanted to IPO but the acquisition was a pretty sweet experience. Had several opportunities to negotiate more options over my tenure. Those who had the foresight did very well through the buyout.

Hit 129% of quota and get a 15% raise on base.  No raise to commission specifically.

I got a 30k raise, promoted to Sr AE, and bump in quota.
240k OTE 50/50 split
They don't offer equity or 401k match at my company which sucks

Hopefully you’re 200% of quota every year if they aren’t giving you equity. That’s horse shit.

Is no one seriously getting an increase to their base salary? Is anyone pushing hard, standing firm, negotiating hard for it?

OTE is nice and all if you know you are going to crush it, but that's guaranteed money passing you by. Literally everyone else in any other job would be going for a raise in base. And it's not like you won't get paid past your sales target too right? Right....?

I mean, wow, all the stuff we do as sales people, we earn that shit left and right, day in day out. Base salary bump, a significant one, especially for sellers killing it and bringing in high ACV deals too. That doesn't even seem like a basic ask or expectation.

What's the long term plan if they don't bump your guaranteed base and only OTE? Why aren't you getting that UNLIMITED COMMISSION every JD loves to advertise? What do you do? Leave after a few years or when something better comes along?

Basic salary for Enterprise should be 6 figures. No one likes to see their worth not increasing, no matter the expected end of year outcome.

Am I wrong on any of this?

15% increase in OTE is 60:40 split, so 60% of that increase was on my base.

I'd say it depends on what you're looking for. In a startup, I'd be open to a more aggressive split 40:60 base:commission if I got adequate stock allocations.

Ok, so people are in fact getting raises. Guess it's just those of us working at shit companies getting nothing. I feel sad now.

Doesn’t even matter if you’re getting raises or not. If other companies are hiring people at 130%+ of what you’re getting paid, something is off. Go apply and interview to recalibrate your market value.
