can someone throw some resources at me re discovery and buyer's journey?

I need some facts on win rates when doing disco vs not (haha, unfortunately my co thinks it's optional) and how buyer journey correlates with that potentially.

thanks!

So they can hire me as their VP Sales whenever they are ready. The fact they think itโ€™s optional is telling.

Not sure i get the ask. Are you asking for experiences or for others to do some research for you?

My experience: continuous discovery leads to larger deals and a better experience for everybody.

Then you are asking for others to do your homework, right?

wait....like industry wide stats on how doing discovery increases win rates?

i dont have those stats but im very concerned that your company even needs to see that.

why dont they think you need to do discovery? are you just taking orders?

There are a few articles about this online if you're looking for resources to prove a point. Here's one I found:

https://www.lucidchart.com/blog/how-mastering-the-discovery-call-improves-buyer-experience

And one about buyer's journey: https://paykickstart.com/how-to-shorten-your-saas-customers-buying-journey/

And discovery calls, how to run them, and why they shorten the sales cycle: https://www.linkedin.com/business/sales/blog/basics/process-for-an-incredible-sales-discovery-call

All of these have their own references, including Gartner and other resources, so they go beyond opinion.
