Canada OTE and Job Market

I have been looking at Repvue to gather information on overall OTEs and quotas which is very US-centric - any Canadian savages that can share what I can expect for the Mid-Market and Enterprise AE ranges? Currently at a small company with around 150k CAD OTE, 4 weeks vacation, pretty mediocre benefits with being ranked #1 for my first two gigs (1 year each) and wondering how that stacks up in the market.

Also in general, the state of the job market for AEs since I've noticed recruiter DMs have dried up on LinkedIn over the past month.

Seriously Google AE salary and your area and it will give you a great idea of what others are currently making. ๐Ÿธ

This is where I'm having a bit of a challenge since I'm seeing people in my experience range with anywhere from like 70k OTE all the way to the 250s - so my frame of reference is skewed and I can't tell what's the "norm" per se that I should be looking for

Blow it up
I'm not in SaaS, so not sure how helpful I can be. Manufacturing is very low commish but we do higher deal sizes.

I'm trying to recruit for a new Jr salesperson but not getting much traction of good candidates with what the boss is ready to pay. OTE at $100k based on the current forecast, 3 weeks vacation and in office for at least the first 3 months then split office remote after. Mix of inbound/outbound sales and old/new business accounts.

Thank you for this data! Helpful to have benchmark numbers from other industries as well

That sounds pretty decent, TBH. Not ridiculously high but pretty good.

4 weeks vacation is also nice.

What's the split? 50/50?

Aside from a few superstars, I'd say that most SaaS AE's in Canada aren't making the crazy money like our neighbours to the south.

40/60 split, the base seems a little low but it makes sense that we'd be priced out in comparison to the US AEs.

My plan is 50/50 with 90k base and accelerators once you're over, unlimited PTO, mediocre benefits(i use my accountant fiance's benefits lol). Tenured reps are making mid 6 figs but it will take years to hit OTE, i'm aiming for $130-140k for my first year.

Canadian reps make dece money, nothing compared to the reps to the south though, something like 95% of our revenue is from the states, individual deals can be larger than our annual goals.

Looks like a good package! I imagine the whole ramp-up process for year 2 and 3 will naturally generate more opportunities, accelerators are nice too - wish I had those at the current gig

You were able to get a $200k+ OTE role earlier this year, no problem but a lot of those have dried up due to recent macro conditions. I would say Cybersecurity SaaS space still has those OTEs, if you can find a role.

Makes a lot of sense, might have to wait for the market to shoot back up before looking to make a move. Have heard lots of good things about cybersecurity!
