Canadians working remotely for American companies

Is anyone in the same boat? I'm a Canadian working as an independent contractor for an American company.

Am I allowed to visit the US while I work from my laptop? Would I need a visa for that?

Canadian here.

Just curious, what is it like being a remote contractor for an American company?

No complaints! But people like to laugh at how I say 'about', 'process', etc. But to me, it's just like being a remote employee at a Canadian company.

No, you don't need a special visa to visit the US for work for a few days/a week even as an independent contractor. Have you applied for Nexus? It's worth getting one even if you use it a couple of times.

Nexus is a totally the right way to go.  You don't need a visa but tell border you r going to see friends. US border patrol and custom can b real asses at Pearson. Keep it simple.  Get your vaccine and a test by leaving. You'll b fine.

I don’t know but I would think it probably depends on the amount of time you’re staying
