Blow it up
Sustainability because every gov't is throwing money at it.

Also warehousing and logistics are off the chain. So many companies switched from just-in-time to stockpiling during the pandemic and are now sitting on tons of inventory. A few people I know are making lots of money in warehouses and storage facilities.

Pair that with companies like Amazon and Walmarts of the world ever growing and expanding, people in the space of supporting large-scale logistics are in for a nice ride.

I was in warehouse sales during pandemic. Transportation had its issues but we were churning out 5 offers a week or something, per sales support personnel. I was working overtime every day 7 days a week. It was amazing, and horrifying.

Though depends on company to company, you might not reap the benefits even if you’re in sales. In 2020 i think i saw companies merging titles into lower ones.

Blow it up
Lots of smaller companies got snapped up during the pandemic in every industry. Anyone who was too slow to pivot or whose owners were already considering exiting got bought up and merged. Lots of money was made but it is now much worse for competitiveness.

I was working in one of the global, largest ones. Not only they had us (sales support) working for peanuts, some business development managers got downgraded into chief-level positions to the point they were afraid of losing their benefits. It was a shit show.

In the US, infrastructure (communications) and sustainability will be crazy over the next 5-10+ years.

Covid showed the very glaring black eye in the US of high speed internet accessibility within rural markets. So in turn the Government has been throwing money at WISP (wireless internet service provider) companies to build out broadband internet for these rural markets. You throw that on top of everyone increasing the number of smart devices that are being used that are taking up bandwidth that will require the carriers to continue to bolster their network. Lastly we still have the 5G buildout that is just in the infancy stages of being built and that will be on-going for the next 3-4 years before 5G LTE or 6G will be introduced and starting to be built out.

The Carbon reduction bill in the US will start to take effect over the next few years. This year we haven't seen very much on new site builds for wind because they are still trying to understand what the tax credits will look like for onshore wind and have held off on starting projects this year because they wouldn't be finished in this year. Offshore wind construction has not truly started yet on the east coast. I expect to see that actual buildout start in the next 18 months after the UK companies have set up shop to do what they did in the UK for offshore wind.

I could ramble on about all of this but primarily because these are the industries that I am currently working in.

I picked sustainability, but it's anybody's guess, really.

And software supports all these verticals, so I probably should have just stuck with that.

Isn’t this the correct answer? As long as anything booms, software is somewhere in the background helping make things happen better/faster.

Retail is going bust, hardware tech seems to be stable. Software tech/SaaS is saturated, especially in cyber.

That leaves healthcare, where there’s a lot of innovation and a lot of total and senior medical needs, also sustainability which is the golden child and is getting a lot of publicity and global attention

Sustainability
The war in Ukraine has forced Europe to find alternative energy sources. In addition yo more frequent natural disasters - the world is finally realizing the immense threat that we are facing due to climate change.

Healthcare and the construction industry are also ready for a digital transformation!

It is important to note that the performance of an industry can vary over time and can be influenced by a variety of factors such as economic conditions, consumer demand, technological advancements, and government policies. It is also important to keep in mind that the performance of an individual company within an industry may not necessarily align with the overall trend of the industry. It is always a good idea to do thorough research and due diligence before making any investment decisions.
