I would use 4:3 size for content that is only going to be printed as a sliduement and won't be shown on a screen and recommend 16:9 only if you wanna get a highly visual content tbh.

I deal in an industry where people still like hard copies of things.
Also, depending on your presentation it might be nice to have the attendees have the slides with them so they can make personal notes while they attend. This can be nice in larger in person presentation settings, as it can be easier to follow along.
