Channel Managers (typically manufacturers/B2B) or Direct Sales Reps (sell to end users/B2C)

Have you done both? if so, do you have a preference? and why?

thanks!

Which one are you? (in some variety)

Blow it up
I've done both, I much prefer B2B/B2G to B2C. Too many small fish who think they are super important. B2B also allows for longer-lasting relationships.

Strange limitation on options. Guessing you’re not in SaaS? I do direct B2B sales (no channel nor consumer) so I couldn’t answer your poll.

That said, I have done both - channel (B2B) and retail (B2C). I’d take channel any day of the week if those options are all I get. Because in my experience, selling to individual people freaking sucks compared to the hunt, the relationship building, the close, and $$$ of B2B (channel or not).

Ymmv of course

B2B SaaS sales, which I suppose you've lumped into channel management?

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
From my experience, Direct Sales can make more money.  But if you have an "in" at a channel partner, if can really pay off.

I am B2B and I have done channel sales, and I would not lump them together. Definitely prefer both to B2C!
