Choosing the right company to become an entry level SDR

Do you guys have any suggestions when choosing certain companies to work for when coming into the tech landscape with minimal experience?

the most important things to me would have to be a hybrid schedule, great culture with a fantastic compensation pack with achievable quotas to meet ?

1) Product market fit.
2) Demonstrated quota attainment.
3) A documented onboarding and training plan.ย
4) Low churn (look up past employees with an SDR title on LinkedIn.ย

Yes, pay and culture are importantโ€ฆbut you wonโ€™t get paid or become part of the culture if the foundation isnโ€™t there.ย

Couldn't agree more- especially with minimal experience, tech isn't the best place if pay is a super high priority.ย

What I will say though is that it's definitely (and obviously) possible to get paid high in tech but they do tend to have more of a "prove it" standard.

I've also noticed that the SDR role is highly sought after right now in tech and if growth is something you're focused on, maybe give a start up a try. In my experience, you can typically get paid a bit more salary wise and also get a world of experience quickly.

One of my favorite comments on any thread so far. The book shelf and recruiter's office had me rolling.

I love your thread man it seems like you are very transparent and honest can't be mad at a man with those characteristics. Now if I am reading this correctly your company is currently hiring? could you please provide more details?

First thing I looked at was training.
1. Is this organization going to get me situated with the right tech deck or some variation of it (SFDC, zoominfo, outreach, LinkedIn salesnav, etc)
2. Do they have a documented training plan? A 30/60/90 day plan for you?
3. Are they able to train you on soft skills to better yourself as a salesperson? Or is it just product knowledge?
Stuff like that, how much can I grow from this one role and how much can I gain to make myself a stronger closer in my next role

There are many threads on this you can search in addition to questions to be asked during interview. Check them out.

first, is it a good company?
I use glassdoor to see what people say about working there,
second, is it a good product? can you stand behind it? (personal preference, I don't like working in places I absolutely loath either the company or the product)
then of course all the benefits you've mentioned

SDR at Public/Large company:
-Likely manning inbound leads
-Potentially easier
-Less outbound skills learned
-More competition to advance internally

SDR at Start-up/pre IPO:
-Likely a mix of inbound and outbound
-Probably more difficult
-Partnering w/ AEs, maybe management
-More personal growth and outbound skills learned
-Better chance to advance internally
