Clout Shout

What's up sales savages?

Was going through old spreadsheets looking at past deals I've closed over the last 5.5 years across 3 companies and calculated I've closed $8.9M.

Anyone else keep track of this stuff over time?

Would love to hear how you pros are doing, shout out those career #s!

Blow it up
I joined my current company in Nov 2019, in the 2 years I've been here I've closed $53m in sales.

Previous revenue was $5-7m a year, I did $14m in 2020 and am on target for $19m for this year. 2022 already has $13m booked and another $5m booked for 2023.

My problem is I know I'm underpaid. Even though my comp has gone up 5x since 2018 I'm hitting an earnings ceiling already because the company can only produce so much each month.

Thanks!

We make white label products and subcomponents for aerospace, medical and defence markets. Since it is physical manufacturing we're limited in our output (machines, staff, plant size, raw materials, etc.).

Last year I came up with the idea to hire subcontractors to take some of our order volumes. If not, we probably would have maxed out at $10m in deliverables. Solving the scalability problems of physical manufacturing takes time away from selling and puts a ceiling on my earnings.

I keep tabs with all my deal details in a Google doc. I felt very accomplished to see that at a previous company (infosec unicorn) I was in the top 20 in ACV all time (close to 1k AEs). Felt good to see the only people ahead of me had either (1) been there twice as long or (2) had entire countries as territory.

I used to keep track, but then I stopped.  It's been a very long ride for me, with a few years I'd rather forget with many I'm very proud of.   I could possibly recreate a lot of it if I cared to, but nah.

As for you:  That's a solid accomplishment over 5 years.    Kudos.
