Cold Call Openers

Hey guys

I'm a first time SDR for a software company. We sell a marketing software for ecommerce companies that sell products on line. Our prospects are directors of ecommerce and digital marketers.

I'm sick of permission based openers "Is now a bad time to talk?". I've used a bunch and gotten my reps in but genuinely curious what else I could try.

I've been in the role for almost 8 months now and I gotta ask...

What cold call openers do you use?

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
You wanna know the secret sauce?

Drop names:
“I was referred to you by…”
”We are working with <recognizable company names>”

And give them immediate business reasons to talk to you.

That’s it.

What I’ve seen is the opening is all about how confident you sound.

The people who really know their shit and know how to showcase it - are taken more seriously.

Open up the call with a sense of authority, and see what happens ?

Try to make it as if you're a responder to the prospect needs.
Like Hello I can see that your company's expanding and definitely it needs+go with your pitch that's what I normally do then finally Is it a good time to proceed with further details or information or to schedule a call back to take it further?!
This way at least you got yourself a chance for a follow up call!!

I try to be direct "I am calling you because I saw *Relevant information for the company/ prospect" and so I try to show him/her how can we solve this issue.

For Tier 1 used to work to qualify the lead, for Tier 2 and above is 50/50 working

i guess my tone is pretty good since i never get shut down right away haha. but im not in love with it 😂

I like "Can I be blunt with you? I am not even 100% sure if I can help you." It takes all the pressure off them and creates enough curiosity to get them to listen.

From there I like customer/problem/implication/solution framework.

"We help (ideal customer) solve (problem) before it becomes (implication) by offering (solution.)"

"Do you know who I would need to talk to about this or anyone else who may be interested?"

“Hey X, I was wondering if you could help me with something?”

“Great…
Problem, contextualise the problem, test them on it.

Give a killer ROI hook if they’re interested.

Qualify as needed, book the meeting.

Don’t start off by telling them their problem…most people feel insulted or offended or won’t admit it. Open up with a greeting verifying you are talking to the correct person then hit them with an open ended question which is very precise to the company or your services. Get them talking…and drop a “not sure if you’re the right fit for us, how do you handle “xyz”?
