I've been assigned an office number by my company, but I don't remember what it is.

All my business is done on my cell phone. It's got to be the same for a lot of your customers.

Call.

Cells are essentially the only way to reach anyone via cold call at this point, unless they work in a legacy office or something.

Not in the cybersecurity industry but I do call cell phones, and my manager encourages it. Easiest way to get in touch with a DM and to cut out the middleman (NDMs). I say go for it, the worst thing that can happen is they yell, call you names and/or threaten you... which can make for good content to submit to Corporate Bro.

Just call them. If they are in cybersecurity, they pretty much know how it is easy peezy lemon squeezy it is to get phone numbers these days.

They'd get it.

Call them. If they freak out, mark it in the CRM and don’t call that one on the cell again

I sell in Cyber and use cell phones all the time. Often, people's office lines are never answered if they even have one. Particularly post-COVID.

Yup, that's how you get ahold of people now.

If they push back, tell them you understand or even say "I got this number off of ZoomInfo".

People appreciate the honesty behind it in my experience, tonality is key no matter what.

Call the cell phones and good hunting

I completely agree. We use Seamless AI and tell them that is how we got it and ask if there is a different way they prefer to be contacted.
Then you better have something of value to SHARE with them…and this is not a time to ask for a demo or anything like that. Be a giver, not a taker!

Excellent advice @Foxtrot. I'm just surprised how "give-give-give-and then maybe ask" is still not taught in 99% orgs.

I do not call a cell phone unless I've been given permission to do so by the client.

I’m in cyber & only call mobiles. 99% if not 100% of all of my meeting have been booked via mobile numbers. I’ve found it a waste to call office lines now.

For every one person you get that’s pissed at you for it, the other 9 won’t care.

It definitely depends... in Canada most of the time they view it as an invasion of privacy but in the US it's more acceptable. At the end of the day if they are not happy just say sorry I did not know that it was your cell and will not call it again.
