Cold Calling despite having a BDM

For the first time in my career I have an inside sales person calling out and booking meetings for me, but I know I still need to come call. However, my motivation to hammer the phones and dial is shockingly low, and I can’t talk myself in to doing it. Had this happened to anyone else on their career?

Just had this conversation with one of my SDR friends from another company as I reached out and made cold calls for the first time in a few months today.

What I found that helped out is grab a teammate hop on a zoom call or in an office and just go back and forth making a dial. This helped me not get distracted inbetween each call.

Literally everyone that has ever been in sales has dealt with a lack of motivation to prospect at one point or another. So yes.

As to what I can suggest to overcome that lack of motivation? That's a harder question to answer.

What is the collab like between you and your ISR? I've found having a regular sync like once a week or bi-weekly was super helpful in tactfully attacking our book. Identifying the T1, T2 and T3 accounts and the ideal personas you want a meeting with is great for starters. That way you aren't doubling down on cold calls, and let's face it... they will probably be better at it than you if they are flexing that muscle 8 hours a day and have commission directly tied towards getting a foot in the door. Reserve your calls for the higher level prospects who give your ISR the time of day but don't commit, or maybe are a perfect ICP but won't give your ISR the time of day.
