Cold Calling Games

Cold calling every day is a drag no matter what industry you work in. Me and my coworkers play a game for the first person to get a prospect to say a certain word, gets 20 bucks. Helps the day go by a little fast and could come out 20 bucks richer.

Does anyone else have some cold calling games?

PS: Today's word is kaleidoscope

PSS: Yes I have got hung up because of this and potentially lost a sale but..... its 20 bucks

Thatโ€™s great lol. Me and my coworker do the opposite; we have to try and fit a certain word into phone calls and whoever says it the most in one call wins. Last word we did was pterodactyl. He somehow got 6 pterodactyls in one call lol.ย

Myย colleague got it with it "It's a beautiful day today.. the clouds look crazy where I am, it almost looks like uhhh.. what's that thing you looked into as a kid that changed colors"

Bastard fell for itย

Three words - Cold calling BINGO. Create a card with common things that happen (good and bad) and first to get the coverall wins!

Tons of fun and adds a silver lining to someone tell you to "fuck off!"

Love it, back when I worked in an office with other folks we used to try and match the other person's tone and enthusiasm without laughing. Every now and again you would have someone super monotone or extremely excited so the sales floor got crazy at times. Especially when calling into Texas

I like making tally marks as I go through my calls. Helps me visualize how much I've done even if it's not been a great call block

I like this! I assume it's much easier at the office. Trying to think how it'd work on this remote setting?

FULLY support this. It's great that you found something to break up the monotony.

Me, one of my buddies who worked for a very important global institution, and another who worked for a big finance firm did "word of the week" for about a year. We would pick words such as gelatinous, evanescence, etc., and see how many times we could fit them in on calls/meetings. Good times.ย

Love the camaraderie! I might steal thisโ€ฆin my earlier days my work Hubby and I would force each other to annunciate names the wrong way and get points for how many times we said it w/o laughing. Gotta have some fun getting yelled at and hung up on.

As a Manager, I was claiming 5 USD gift cards here and send the code to the strongest call, or the sharpest dodge when it comes to objection handling - some sort of "little badges/achievements". For example this week the winner was Mr. Diaz - he booked 5 hyper-qualified apts in one day (which is actually savage considering his monthly quota is eight). We also bet a head shave. Whatever to keep the team on track.ย  ย  ย

haha I wish I could. The sad part is that my company cares more about revenue than the employees :(ย

We used to come up with a category (like animals) and when we repeated back someoneโ€™s email address we would use that category to ready it back. โ€œTo confirm, your email is J, as in jack rabbit, O, as in ostrichโ€ฆโ€ we did this when the prospect wouldnโ€™t give us time and had the age old brush off of โ€œjust email me some infoโ€! We did it a lot to vendors just to be A-holes ๐Ÿคฃ

A good cold email template works just as well for me. Relevance, pain point and CTA. I then follow up with a call referring to said email. It's yielded decent results.
