If you need an entire seasonal break from work then teaching may be your true calling. ย

Also, I highly recommend moving to Italy or Spain. Tons of leave and time off there.ย
ย
On a serious note, if your company provides PTO, take the damn PTO. Some places are so toxic they give you vacation but judge you if you use it. People do need the reset button. Hit it every so often. And take at least 1 week at a time once a year.ย

This! Your company gives you PTO for a reason -- take it and don't feel bad.

We're taking whole seasons off now? If you stop prospecting in the summer it's going to be a long cold winter...

Any time is a good time to prospect. You should never stop, regardless of the season.ย

Yeah folks may go on vacation, but what if you find another decision maker?ย

I find it's the same as cold calling during any other season with one exception - Friday afternoons or the day before/after a long weekend. I don't usually bother calling during those times due to people leaving early/taking the day off/already being mentally checked out.

I'd also add just be cognizant of your Monday's & Friday's.

People make a lot of long weekends - track those out of office email bounce backs etc, know when the right time to call is.ย

I thought this was going to be about people taking summer Fridays and how to get around that... not "should I keep doing my job a full quarter of the year"

Iโ€™ve found summer is a great cold calling season. People are happy about getting back from or ready for vacation, the weather is warmer, the nights are longer, clothing is more minimal. Keep grinding Aaron!

Yeah, you gotta keep it going strong so you don't wonder why the pipeline is dry in a few months.ย

Best recommendation is to set yourself some time aside that you can commit to do nothing other than cold call. If an hour seems too long, do 30 minutes, if that seems to long do 15 to start. Just make sure it is something you can commit to and do regularly.ย

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
People actually pick up the phone all the time in the summer because they don't want to do work. Hit them during the middle of week though. Friday afternoon people are dipping out.
