Cold calling pet peeves

Nothing worse than not being able to skip a voicemail greeting, then having to listen to someone's stupid ass minute and a half long voicemail greeting only to find out their inbox is full.

Love the text feature on my iphone, so I can quickly scan it.  My auto warranty is 99% of the messages I get.

I don't even own a car right now and I'm still getting warranty calls. its an impressive exhibition in persistence really.

I like the ones that offer to help me get forgiveness on non-existent student loans.

When I speak with a receptionist, they ask, "are they expecting your call?".  I respond, "Not today, but he or she knows I'd be calling at some point this week.  Do you mind giving me their extension?"

That way, you don't have to leave a voicemail. Works about 70% of the time. Plus, if you send an email or a LinkedIn message before your call to your prospect saying that you'll be calling this week, you're not lying; it was a fair warning.

But as far as pet peeves, "unsubscribe" is probably mine.  I want to send back the middle finger emoji.

Cure to voicemail hell, the double tap. Call the number right back…psychology behind it being that if a number calls back they must really need something 🤘

It sounds petty but it makes me want to throw my headset when that happens at times.

Same. 1) who the fuck has a voicemail you can’t press 1 to skip past and 2) who the fuck has a full voicemail

Lots of people I call have full mailboxes. It’s intentional.

I have one customer that I talk to a few times a week, his voicemail is full at all times and I have asked him why he never deletes voicemails. His response (in a joking manner) was that he doesn’t delete them so he doesn’t have to make me leave him a voicemail because he won’t listen to it and will just call me back instead.

Call and if after the third ring they don't answer, hang up and callback. Higher chance of getting someone on the phone.

Separately - annoying af when you call and you say the name of the person you want to speak with to the automated attendant and it can never understand you...or when you type in the first three letters of the person's name and it lists off about 50 people before getting to the contact you need to call

When they say "I'll be on vacation April 24-28th 2020" and it's 2021 lol!

Leaving VM hasn't given me much success but I still drop one. I have notices a lot of VM being full.

Make sure to leave this in your notes for the next time you call. Most people who have a full voicemail don't go in and clear it out
