Commission Rates

Very recently, I've been talking with company's regarding an AE role. The thing that stood out to me about these roles is that they are 100% inbound. From what I've seen the more outbound prospecting required the higher the commission rate. In your experience what's a reasonable commission % for a role that is 100% inbound?

Not a lot of experience but I´ll give my 2cents.

I was an AE that did in and out bound leads + managing some clients.

commission started out at 10%. Everything above my quota increased the % with the max % being 20%. No cap on commission.

Deals were between 50-120k.

@GDO so it seems like the SaaS norm for ARR structured deals is 10-15%. I was interested to see if that drops to like 5 or 8% for fully inbound.

I'd be skeptical of anyone claiming 100% inbound...

if your company never gets acquired and never IPOs then your equity is worthless, unless they tender offer (where the company will buy your shares for a price, usually above your strike)
