Community building? the long term play for Sales People?

So I have been toying around the idea of seriously building a community on my personal brand. It would not only work in my favor as I switch companies but also, based on my audience, I would even be able to decide what my next company should be like and sell.

If you have a captive niche, then would it be easier to get a company that has something to offer that niche? would you be already winning?

what do you think? is it worth it? @GeneralCorp what is the biggest challenge?

This is a long game plan as you rightly said
It will be massively beneficial for : learning, job switches, leads, reference related jobs that could be job opportunities, etc
So in a nutshell, if there is a purpose around it, yes works
