I always try to build an excel to estimate comp. It motivates me to immediately see how much comp a call could bring me
Find/create an Excel model that can tell you the effective commission rate from 0-300% of quota. If you can model it, you can understand it. If you can't create it yourself, ask the sales comp team or someone in FP&A to do it. If no one can do that for you, I'd be concerned that the people drafting plans and/or administering plans may not fully understand what they are asking you to sign.

Not that I know of but if youโre going the Excel route, be sure to include the federal tax on commissions.
If its more than 2-3 pages, its been written by a lawyer and an accountant - not a sales person. Keep that in mind as you re-read it.
