Counter offering tips

I just received an offer for an amazing job (non-sales, but yall can still give me some advice).....it was already a 30% pay increase to what I make currently.

However this new position offers no bonuses. I currently only get a yearly bonus based on performance (we also have the option to contribute all of it to our 401K and the company will match a year later - which I did this year). so I'm already going to lose that bonus next year/match, and I currently have a company car/insurance/gas...will lose that also.

I'm not worried abt the car. the bonus rolled into my current salary still doesn't get close to new salary.

My question is, do I counter this and disclose the bonus/match to use as leverage or just shut up and be happy - do people ALWAYS counter?

You should always negotiate for the best possible deal.

Did you disclose this pay structure during the "expectations" conversation with your recruiter? If so, point back to it. If not, it's time you present it and see what they can do to match it.

BTW, a counter offer is what your current company gives you to stay. This is called negotiation.
