Coworking Space - But for salespeople?

Not really a question. Just a thought I had.

I've made 100s of cold calls in a day before, multiple days in a row, just sitting in a room by myself. But I always felt like I'd have more fun doing it if I was in a room full of other cold callers and salespeople as well.

Obviously call centers exist but I'm talking about a bunch of people from different companies voluntarily going to a single location, the way programmers go to coworking spaces, hacker spaces, hacker houses, etc. despite being able to work remotely.

I do feel like it'd be a productivity boost. There's a reason coworking spaces are a thing even though you can WFH for free.

Time for Bravado to set up an IRL WR ๐Ÿ‘€

Edit: Removed number of calls. It was not the point of the post.

Edit: I work at a WeWork and hog phone rooms for hours pounding the dials. It's because I've seen people who do Zoom calls outside the booths before get multiple dirty looks from their neighbors. I just don't think open air calling is appreciated at these general coworking spaces.

Would you?

(2) Really???? I go to a WeWork and I always go into the phone rooms to do that. I feel like it's weird and/or bad manners to be doing that in the open. I thought others wouldn't want to hear my calls.

Ive only had 2 official sales jobs.
1-couldnโ€™t stand the people and I had to be in the office with them
2-awesome people that Iโ€™m pretty sure Iโ€™d enjoy being around every day and the company is 100% remote

Majority of time I love working from home, but ya occasionally Iโ€™d like to be in a room with people I guess

You said 300 phone calls, a number of consecutive times. That is not easy and you were in a room by yourself that means total grind no distraction. Having or being in a room full of co-workers would very distracting. You productivity level might go down, but if that's what you like go for it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I see what you mean. It's just that on the flip side you hear people, let's say programmers, say they got 4 hours of work done at home while sitting there for 16 hours, but if they go to a coworking space for 8 hours they'll actually get 8 hours of work done or 6 if they socialize for a bit.
I guess this is just for people who don't do work well at home, procrastinate, get distracted, etc. It's also why people go to libraries and cafes to 'concentrate' (altho they don't talk there, which is what you mentioned).

Was the 300 calls a personal goal?
1
Sales Rep
Sorry it seems like the 300 calls is coming off as a flex to some people and the main point of the post.
To clarify: I don't think X calls should be the goal. It's never the goal. Obviously closed deals is the goal. I'm just saying that I think I would have been able to sustain that for longer, while having more fun and being more productive (again, in terms of closed deals), if I worked and called around other salespeople doing the same thing.
No, it was not a personal goal. It was just a number I hit that/those day(s).

Got it, so my personal opinion would be, go for it. If it keeps you going and energized, why not. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I mean didnโ€™t WeWork kind of try this (not just sales obviously) and now theyโ€™re out of business?

Haha well how they negotiated leases, spent money on decorating, partying, marketing, etc aside, what I meant was a coworking specifically dedicated towards open air cold calling.
It's just that all coworking spaces (+cafes and libraries) I've been to tend to be super quiet.
I just don't think a bunch of people talking openly for hours on end in the open would be appreciated. I've definitely seen people who are doing Zoom calls outside the phone booths get several unappreciative looks from their neighbors before.
But poweredbycaffeine disagrees and they have a point. The programmers and other people could just wear headphones.

I have always had a tough time doing calls with anyone else around. And I donโ€™t like background noise when calling. So I voted No.

Fair!
It's just that I see tons people resonating with comments like "Dude. Just pick up the phone. You make an excuse, go to the bathroom, get a cup of coffee, take a look again at some old emails, and before you know it, it's 1130 AM already." and a lot of it is because they're left to themselves. I thought maybe if you're surrounded by a like minded crowd, it would serve as an accountability measure.

When my job was all about making calls and setting them appointments/discos - I LOVED being in a room with other degenerates doing the same...maybe not everyday but a good once or twice a week helped my morale and allowed for some venting and cheering.
That being said REMOTE > ALL (I'm in a forced back to office 5 days/week situation and I don't love it Bob).

Someone who gets it!!!
But, yeah, I understand. I'm 24 and am in the socializing and meeting people period of life. If I had more things going on, it'd be more unnecessarily inconvenient. And if I had a family, forget about it. Remote definitely has the strongest arguments in its favor.
