Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Have you worked in a co-working space? I can't speak for other ones but WeWorks SUCK. I'm not a fan of the model at all, personally. It's too hard for client meetings, people are slobs, people are loud, there isn't much privacy, things don't get cleaned properly, etc.

I think the future is accommodating what your employees want. Some people will want a normal office, some will want to WFH (me) and some people will want co-working spaces, especially in smaller markets (think SaaS sellers in Charleston) with just a few co-workers. I don't think there's one answer. I think it's to just meet your people where they are.

My company provides a WeWork membership and it is perfect for me. The WeWorks near me are clean and provide plenty of phonebooths/meeting rooms you can reserve. It's all about adjusting and adapting to your environment

Completely agree that the best talent will flock to companies that adopt a model like the one you listed above. Great meme๐Ÿค

If you're making calls all day or are spending most of your time in client meetings, like you should be, then coworking/open office spaces are the worst.ย

You're gonna piss off everyone else who isn't making calls or working in sales (like the marketing team who wants silence to do their magic).ย

I prefer remote work or having my own dedicated office space.ย

Oh I disagree with the coworking thing. I love the energy of being on calls on the floor when everyone else is also on calls.

I do agree, however, that WFH is ideal in a meeting filled day where you just need some privacy. Which is why I said a balance of both will be important moving forwardย

Fair point on the energy & vibe of being on the sales floor.

They will just limit their reach for talent. But in the long term it should make a difference.

I agree with this. Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™ll ever be in a company owned space again, other than for a once a quarter meeting or so.ย

Yup, I won't even consider jobs where there is a requirement to come into the office full time. I'm in a remote role now where we meet up as a company once a quarter and that is plenty for me.

I'm very much in favour of remote work becoming more applicable in the future. Thanks to the pandemic this modality has been implemented in a greater percentage.ย

Yeah COVID definitely accelerated this among other things. Interesting to be a part of that for sure

I just think itโ€™ll be one of many options. I know too many people that donโ€™t like that model for it to be the one thing.

Fair enough. My hypothesis is that the people who prefer a strict full-time office culture will become less and less. So eventually the ratio will switch, where it used to be ~80% of people worked in the office full time (totally making that number up, but you get what I mean) and the others had different shit going on, it will grow to be the opposite.ย

I agree with this I think sales is one of those jobs that can be done well from home as long as you are hitting your goals and staying on top of what you need to be doing
