"You need to chill and trust that I'll get it done."
This was a very real discussion with my current boss, whom I have a great relationship. I would go so far as to say he is the best boss / leader I've ever had.
However, it was a 6 figure deal at the end of the quarter. We were simply needing signatures from the customer but had different levels of review required, which is to be expected.
Calling, emailing and Slacking me for the same request is not going to move the needle or make me move any faster. You only need to send me one form of communication. It was a tense discussion, but a year later and he has not done it since!

That’s not that crazy. Sounds somewhat sensible, just depends on the delivery.
It can go either way though. But worth knowing the hard answer if it comes.

I have a story the other way round. I was once asked to improve the assembly line process of a manufacturing plant - which needed me to do time studies on each process.
I was literally told by my boss, "Hey don't mingle with them too much. You're salaried and they're hourly paid." WTF

I dont mean to, but sometimes they just flow off the tongue. It is hardly intentional.
It’s impossible to not use them, we’re all surrounding by them 24/7, it just kind of Happens.
