Culture at Salesforce & AWS

Hello Fellow Sales Savages,

I've been mulling over applying to a position in biz dev management at Salesforce and/or AWS. Do any of you have any insights into what the culture is like there?

Figured some of you here may have personal experience or may know someone who knows someone that has worked there recently?

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Have you worked for a company of that size yet?  I've worked at numerous companies of all sizes (startup, small, medium, etc). However, I recently took a role at a giant company (similar in size to those you listed) and while our resources are endless here, locating and utilizing said resources can take MUCH longer than expected.  Obviously, the manager you work for will make all the difference in the world, but just be mentally prepared to fight off a lot of "that's not my job" and people passing the buck.

Additionally, I find it helpful on Glassdoor to sort by "most recent" in the reviews and then filter by your job title.  Should give you a more relevant look into the company.  Hope this helps and good luck.

I do not. Have you checked Glassdoor and the such?

RepVue is way better. Glassdoor has been around a while and big corps will have their current people post falsified "good" reviews and give you the wrong idea. I'm not calling any names but one that comes to mind rhymes with "MailsMorse" 😅

Take a look at repvue and blind. Blind seems like a more appropriate option to sense the culture.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Orgs like that are entirely team dependent. Salesforce tends to fire the bottom 10% however they decide to classify it that year annually. Also- you're applying. Make a decision when you actually get to a stage when it actually matters.

Both have a notoriously difficult interview process (if you can score an interview, to begin with).

Maybe sort that out first before worrying too much about culture.

Spoiler alert: the culture at Salesforce is widely considered the gold standard (quota attainment, territory, and all that shit aside).

AWS culture is heavily centered around its leadership principles. They aren't just wall dressing; you need to live and breathe those principles on the daily in order to succeed there.

Do you know what they are working towards? The easiest way to motivate someone is to take them up to the balcony from the dance floor.
