Current customers

Hey everyone - I haven't had current customers that I didn't sell the initial deal to in my patch in a pretty long time and I just inherited like 12. What do your intro emails look like for these accounts?

Did the previous rep leave the company? In those scenarios I like placing a phone call. “Hi, calling with some news about your account. XYZ has left the company, I’ve been assigned as your rep going forward.” Then gauge the temperature on the previous rep. No matter how good or bad they were some customers will have loved them, some will have hated their guts, and many will be in the middle.
Love = ask what they loved about them that you can replicate
Neutral = proceed as normal
Hate = “Thanks for the transparency, let’s fix this going forward.” Be the hero!

As mentioned, be up front. Transparent. It’s ok you’re new to them. But you want to gain their trust. They’re just people. Introduce yourself in person if that’s plausible; face with a name usually helps.
