Customers who never answered when they were prospects

This might sound super petty but when people were prospects and didn’t answer at all during the deal cycle on any platform and you had to go to other people for info and to get it done.

They seem to be the same people who try to get on your calendar all the time as customers. I try to handle them professionally but once in a while really want give them a taste of their own medicine bc some are just dicks.

Has anyone else noticed this? How do you handle these characters?

I breathe in, hold 8 seconds,  and breathe out.

Then I take their money.

My team sells SaaS and the way it’s setup is once an account is sold it is sent over to the onboarding team. The AEs should never have to touch that account again.

I like it this way because it allows our AEs to hunt and prospect and bring in new deals without babysitting those that have already signed up. Yes we do occasionally need to talk to customers we have signed up but our onboarding and customer service teams handle most of that.

Also, you'll find the people apply only their most recent title to their stint at X company. Person could have started as Sales Manager 2011-2013, then Sales Director from 2013-2015, then VP Sales from 2015-present, and they'll just put VP Sales from 2011-present.

I see this as it has changed, i also see tech at large as a gig economy. I am on my 6th PE flip here and have a job for 2 maybe 3 years max. Maybe 1 promotion per place. I am forever envious of the 20 year at one company people. The latter is rare the bouncing every 2-3 seems to be the norm. Just get hired higher at next place
