Daddy's home

Seems like I go through waves of being on here constantly and then inadvertently take like a month or more off. Travel has definitely picked back up for me (interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same), and I'm stacking up points with AA and Marriott on the reg. When I first joined the WR, like everyone else I was fully remote and not traveling at all. Times have changed, and I'm a lot busier outside of desk chair. It's a grind, but I love getting back to normal. Hope it remains...


In addition, my in-house savage colleagues have started coming back into the office with me, which has consumed a lot of my downtime. LOTS of bullshit sessions at lunch and on coffee breaks, which I dearly missed. But...that doesn't mean I don't miss my virtual colleagues just as much, so here I am.

I'm the same way. I'll get super into this platform for a few weeks, then I start seeing the same posts on repeat so back off for a few weeks. then miss it and repeat the cycle.ย 

Kinda like being a mild alcoholic. You can go weeks without drinking. but then sometimes you just need a good solid bender

maaaan you bring up another topic on my mind.ย  Traveling more means drinking a LOT more for me haha.ย  In the airport lounges, with clients, with co-workers...I need a solid detox, but I can't commit to that yet.

left pretty much every f2f meeting with current customers with an upsell opportunity.ย  I think those meetings really make a difference.

Hi dad, good to have you back.ย  Can confirm travel is back up and running and heading towards pre-covid levels imo though probably predominantly leisure at the moment.ย  I'm back out there racking up the miles with AC/UA & Hyatt which is ironic because I think our hotel loyalties should be the opposite considering the airlines each partner with lol

haha yeah I just think Marriott has the most options.ย  I also have diamond with Hilton, but hardly ever use them anymore.ย  Not much of a Hyatt guy lately.ย

Yeh thats fair, tbh i have started using Marriot a little more but Hyatt has a good coverage in the areas I frequent and I tend to find their hotels nicer and newer, but again could just be the cities I visit most.

I live in Canada and am mostly in Chicago, Denver and Minneapolis.ย  Denver and Chicago has some good Hyatt's as well as Calgary and Winnipeg so I tend to stick with them.ย  Outside of there Marriot is the best bet.

Being stuck somewhere in the middle of Canada means travel is a bit of a gong show so I am averaging roughly 3-4 flights per week since the start of this year.ย  See you in the skies sometime!ย
