Day 71 of.... How to be successful in sales - According to ChatGPT

It's pretty crazy what this AI program can generate, it can pretty much do anything and do it pretty well, definitely a good starting point below. I tried to make some sales templates too and it actually did a half decent job better than half the SDR's out there. All I typed in too was 'write a sales email selling (company) to (persona title)' Shit's wild.

I also made a mission statement and values statement for my boss that he loved... in 2 minutes.

Crazy.

Anyways: Here it is -- The following was generated by https://chat.openai.com/chat when asking "How to be successful in sales"

  1. Know your product or service really well and be able to explain its benefits and features clearly to potential customers.
  2. Find out who your target market is and what their needs and pain points are. This will help you tailor your sales pitch and address their specific concerns.
  3. Put together a sales pitch that emphasizes the benefits and value of your product or service, and that addresses the needs and concerns of your target market.
  4. Use active listening and effective questioning techniques to understand your potential customers' needs and objections, and to address them in a convincing way.
  5. Build relationships with your potential customers and establish trust and credibility. This can help you overcome objections and close more sales.
  6. Be persistent and don't give up easily. Successful salespeople often have to make many attempts before they close a sale, and they don't let rejection discourage them.
  7. Continuously improve and learn from your successes and failures. Sales is a dynamic field, and to be successful you need to continuously adapt and improve your skills and approach.

It's really cool to see AI build out frameworks to build off of, especially for free. I even asked it personal questions about trauma, psychographics, marketing plans, etc. and it gave me pretty decent answers in seconds

I'm curious if soon ChatGPT will become a verb, like google it, but chatGPT it.

Awesome stuff.

Cheers

Much love,

The Kid

Until I can effectively get ChatGPT to pick something worth discussing in a press release, align it to my solution, then top it off with a Charlie Day reference…im still “wait n see”

You can tell it to add a charlie day reference

You can say ‘sell product to x title’ then after say ‘reference the companies press release’
Then say ‘add in a charlie reference’

Then you just edit it a little bit to make it your own and boom

I’ll make it a Xmas project to have some fun with it, but I worry I’d spend more time trying to direct it to be personalized and contextual than doing the work myself.

I totally see this for large-scale, skin-deep outreach…which unfortunately is most outreach out there…but picking a small piece out of a specific current event and aligning in a thought provoking way could still be a task for AI

I've messed around a little bit with ChatGPT and it's wild what it can put out/write in a matter of seconds.

ChatGPT, Copilot, and MidJourney have been fantastic technical achievements. I don't think it will completely take over industries but I do see a path where they'll augment abilities. I use it for "brainstorming" and then use the responses to tailor and edit into something even better.
