Delusional Olympian Coworker

In the office we have the Olympics on and all my coworker talks about is how he can be better than all these Olympians. He even said once he could've made the Korean baseball team. He also has not hit quota this whole month between watching golf and the Olympics. Do I just pull the plug and turn it off so he can stop his blabbering?

This is an easy one. Hand him a bottle of Kahlua and tell him to buttchug it in under 30 seconds. If he refuses, he's a coward. If he's up to the task but can't successfully funnel it all down there in under 30 seconds, well, he probably isn't Olympian status but at least he's proved his vigor. If he can successfully buttchug the Kahlua in under 30 seconds, he's probably Korean baseball team status. Believe me, they love to buttchug Kahlua on that team.

Damn I might try that to see if I can play Korean baseball

The Korean baseball team has 2 criteria to measure success: maintaining a batting average above .290 and buttchugging Kahlua in under 30 seconds. If you can do both, you're basically a hall of famer.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I really think we overlook telling people to shut the fuck up as an option far too regularly in this community.

If I unplug him so that he stops talking trash and concentrates on more important things

I think of the meme where an obese person is sitting on the couch, with a bag of chips on their chest and they are berating pro sports players for mistakes they make. Everyone is an expert at things they have no authority on when it comes to sports.

They even managed to make an entire TV channel for morons to yell at each other about sports and pretend their opinions matter.

Tl;dr - pull the plug.

As difficult to handle as I may be, I would let him go on and reap the ass chewing or potential pink slip end of quarter for missing quota and having little activity volume.

People often project their insecurities onto others or in this case on to Olympians they wish they could be like 🤣💩

Sounds like he’s low key insecure and hates himself/feels inadequate so he’s projecting by acting like a complete tool. If he hasn’t hit his numbers, he’s probably feeling extra shit so trying to cover up his weaknesses by being a douche

That’s why they need to let 1 “normal” person compete.
