Demo Meetings

Hey guys - so I usually like to turn my camera on during prospecting intro calls because I feel like it can help build repor. However, sometimes I feel that the prospect might get weirded out.

Do you turn your cameras on during the first intro call with a prospect?

2 years ago 100% yes, however the last year and a half I’m tired of staring at my self since the client never goes on camera

I do like 70% of the time for the initial discovery and rapport building piece. Once I shift into my pitch I generally flip it off. I have some type of powerpoint or backdrop open at that point anyway. no reason to keep my camera on when I'm tiny in the corner.

All the time. Disco, demo, follow up meetings, etc....all of it. My customers usually have them on all the time too.

Always on no matter what the prospect does.

Actually, I have found that almost 100% whenever a prospect doesn’t put his camera on, I won’t close the deal. Probably because he wasnt interested enough in the first place but didn’t want to betray he was doing something else while I was talking

I would if I had the bandwidth for it but usually it causes issues. If you do the prospect probably will, if you don't they won't.

My camera on all the time, just so they can see me and realize I am an actual person

YES. i always do. 100% of the time. even if theirs if off.

I feel like it kinda sets the tone for the kind of setting we can have on calls going forward.

Ill never ASK them to turn theirs on but i think its better if we do so i kinda set the stage I guess.

I start with mine on, so they feel more comfortable joining with theirs on, but if they keep theirs off I match them going forward

Every time! If theirs is off and I’m just looking at myself, I generally turn it off. But I would say that I’m starting each meeting with it off, then turning it on as soon as they join to prompt them to turn theirs on as well

Its such a different sell I’d be pressed to see such a role in that position sdr’s call all day to set one or two or three meetings for a 25-75k product so its worth it to pay them for such where as a nutrition company probably relies more on brand deals, grass roots,

I could be wrong but thats how I see it

Always use the camera whenever you can.

I also ask the client to turn theirs on too.
