Hi@Jacques! I see this is your first post here, and you've very recently joined the War Room. Maybe you do not know what it's about.

Are you looking for a job / getting out of retirement / something else which is specific in nature?

Feel free to DM if you feel like!

Hybrid Role Engineer/SDR
I could use some help. Ive had some trouble finding a role in the past couple of months. I don't have a college degree but I attended a coding bootcamp and I am a certified SE.I have 10+ years in the service/hospitality industry and am extremely comfortable with public speaking and outreach. My background in tech as an engineer and experience from working with a start-up company to help engage leads, make appointments, and close deals makes me a great candidate for tech sales. Any guidance?

It sounds like you're doing two very different things. An SE and SDR have very different jobs. I think you need to narrow down on whether you want to pursue SE roles or SDR roles, cuz from the sound of it, you're trying to combine the two.

A recruiter who sees that you graduated from a coding bootcamp is going to wonder why you're applying for sdr roles unless you explicitly mention why. Alternatively, if you have SE experience, why not just highlight your outreach and customer experience when applying for SE roles. It sounds like you need to reconcile the two of these things

Hmm, i see what you mean. So I initially became an SE because i wanted to break into the tech scene. After graduating i confirmed that i wasnt really passionate about coding so i looked at what other roles i might be a good fit for considering my background. I eventually want to find a PM role but was thinking for now it might be a good idea to jump into tech sales and somehow transition over to an entry level pm role internally. Its really complicated lol but i truly do appreciate the advice. Thanks ๐Ÿ™ .
