Our product team has a habit of missing almost every single deliverable from a product perspective. Had multiple customers churn because of it.

Exactly my answer. Everyone is accountable to deadlines and targets except for the product team.

Why did anyone vote for anything other than Marketing... tell Teslas marketing team to take a walk... oh wait. They don't have one and are doing just great.

Sales destruction starts from the top. Sales has to be company focus at leadership level and if it is, other departments will line up and focus on how each is helping drive sales. If engineering, marketing, or god forbid HR and finance are steering the ship, you’re fucked.

Honestly love legal. What better way to start moving a deal forward or closing than to get legal involved early. If the prospect is willing to get their legal team involved then they are probably bought in and you just assume the close to the finish line.

Total ownership.

Legal can cockblock you. Ops WILL fuck you. Your sales manager is going to send you down the wrong path.

But your success and failure is yours alone.

How in depth do you go on your research? I find that I have better calls when I am less prepared generally, tend to overthink less. I usually just scan the LinkedIn profile first if anything

Yes. I closed the largest deal of my career off of a cold call to an F500 CTO. Picked up, I had a contextual hook ready to go, we scheduled a meeting, the rest his history.
